Description
Carl Heidtmann West German carving gouges. High quality West German steel gouge, similar to Hirsch, Kirschen, Bracht and Dastra. Made in Wuppertal, Germany, probably in the 1970s or 80s. These were probably imported by Georg Keilhofer at the Frankenmuth Woodcarving Studio Michigan. These are 8.5 - 9" long with unpolished steel (similar to a Henry Taylor gouges). There's also an intermediate size version set I have for sale that are polished. These range from shallow 3 and 4 sweep gouges, to 11 sweep veiner gouges - ranging between 2 and 10 mm, averaging around 6mm, plus a skew chisel. A good set for fine detail carving. (The # is marked on the blade just above the handle if you zoom in on the pictures). Feel free to ask for more pictures or details.
