Description

For the Baseball Hobbyist. . . 1911 Pinkerton T5 Photograph #502 - John "Colby Jack" Coombs ~ Philadelphia Athletics Reprinted in 1974 by TCMA with postcard back Among the scarcest of baseball cards are the photographs issued in 1911 by Pinkerton, a tobacco conglomerate which produced, among other products, Red Man chewing tobacco. The original Pinkertons carry an American Card Catalog designation of T5. In 1974 The Card Memorabilia Associates, Limited (TCMA) reprinted a dozen of those in postcard style honoring the great Philadelphia Athletics ballclubs: 1910 World Champions 1911 World Champions 1913 World Champions 1914 American League Champions If you find hundreds of dollars for "common" players in Very Good condition above your paygrade (and Hall of Famers costing thousands), consider this card to represent those costly originals. This TCMA postcard measures 3-5/8" by 5-3/4" and is more than 4 decades old. A blue background has been provided to allow evaulation of edges and corners for condition. Condition: Excellent-Plus or better Shipping options are available - YOUR CHOICE of either eBay standard envelope service (which is cheaper and slower) or USPS Ground Advantage (more costly for single cards but much faster delivery). We also offer UNLIMITED singles shipped via Ground Advantage for the one card rate. (See ANY NUMBER below.) Both services include insurance but USPS Ground Advantage is considerably quicker and with fewer limitations. _______________________ Important: Shipping Information Our goal has always been to keep shipping costs low. Our primary objective is to sell cards and other things of interest to baseball hobbyists - not make money by overcharging on shipping. If you ever believe you are being overcharged on shipping, please email us and we will double-check the facts of the matter. Thank you! U.S. residents : We combine multiple items purchased so you pay only the shipping on the heaviest item - all other items ship free of charge. (An exception would be if an item must be sent via media/book rate.) All Other Countries: Email us first. Many listings indicate shipment to U.S. or U.S. & Canada only, but we actually ship worldwide. To receive your combined shipping, please wait for us to send you a combined invoice. The eBay checkout system usually displays an incorrect shipping charge. (It is normally too high.) Please do not pay for each item separately; if you pay separately, there is no shipping discount. We pack your order carefully - sandwiching cards between cardboard and utilizing boxes, bubble wrap, etc., as necessary - to ensure your items arrive in the condition you expect. Items are shipped the next business day. We ship 5 - usually 6 - days each week. Payment should be made within 7 days after invoice has been received.
