1972 Press Photo Oakland A’s Pitcher Rollie Fingers Allows Bunt to Fall PHOTO DESCRIPTION: Pitcher Rollie Fingers of the A’s try’s to lull the Cincinnati Reds into a double play as he lets this ninth inning pop-bunt by Ross Grimsley fall in front of him. But Fingers threw wide to first, drawing Mike Hegan off the bag, allowing Cesar Geronimo to go to second. When Pete Rose came to bat, he singled to center to score Geronimo from second, giving the Red a 5-4 lead. That was good enough to win the ball game for Cincinnati and keep them alive in the series.
